Diplomatic crisis between Iran and US in which 52 Americans were held hostage for 444 days. It was after a group of Islamic students took over the American Embassy in Tehran in support of their revolution. -

Physical division between West Berlin and East Germany. It became a symbol of the Cold War. On Nov.9th 1989, the East German Govt Official said it was to be permanatley relocated, then was knocked down on the 3rd. Germany became a single state. -

Riots that occured over 6 days in LA. It started after a jury trial resulted in the acquittal of 4 LA cops accused in the video taped beating of and African American motorist Rodney King. They rioted over the verdict for 6 days. -
