The Nativity with the Prophets Isaiah and Ezekiel
This painting is done by Duccio di Buoninsegna. It is a Byzantine Art that was painted in Italy during the 1200s and 1300s. There are so many different colors in this painting all mixed together. They are mostly colors that arent so bright. The lines however are very soft.I chose this painting beacuse its theme and style is interesting. The woman that is laying looks like she has alot on her mind which makes you wonder and apreciate how much effort this painting took. -

Tobias and the Angel
This painting was during the Renaissance period. It was done by a man named Leonardo da Vinci. This painting is Italian painted during the 1470's. Italian paintings are usually very intense which is why I chose this painting. I also chose it because the lines are thick and the value is very coloful and it explains alot. The colors, clothing and the people in the painting itself tells us alot about what is going on. They look like angels that are in the middle of a wrecked and damaged place. -
A maid asleep
This painting was by Johannes Vermeer. It is an Baroques Art. This painting is from his early life. There are dark colors in this painting and alot of different types of shadows. The value is low and the painting itself isn't very cheerful. It is a painting of a woman that is obviously going through a tough time, she is thinking of something that makes you wonder what it is. She is so sad and lonley. it is an oil painting canvas,, which its colors remain for a long period of time. It is expensiv -
The Arranged Marriage
This painting is by Vasili Vladimirovits Pukirev. I chose this painting because it is a Romanticism Art. It is a painting of a girl that is obviously being forced to get married to someone she might not even love. She looks so unhappy even trying to smile. is a unique kind of a painting because some may relate to it. Some may find it interesting like I do. It is a Portrait from the years 1862. The colors are dark and sad and the lines are thick in front and thinner at the back. The value is sad. -
John Biglin in a Single Scull
This painting is by Thomas Eakins, an American Realism Painter. I could come up with alot of stories about this painting and that is why I chose it. The man looks so realistic and so does his actions. He looks so real as if it was a photography of a man. This is an oil canvas painting. It is easy to work with but it is expensive to buy. It will last a lot longer though and that could be worth it. -
Two Young Girls at the Piano
The Two Young Girls at the Piano was painted by Auguste Renoir. This painting is from the Impressionism arts. I chose this because it shows happiness and closure. The theme is two girls bonding and sharing something that they both have in common. It is an oil painting. The colors are so bright and happy and the volume is cheerful. The lines are very thick everywhere, but It is a happy painting and that is also why I chose it. They are both playing on the piano having fun as well as learning. -
Three Female Figures
This painting was done by Henry Moore. It is a Modernism Art. I found this very interesting because it is different. It is a work done on a paper. The artist used watercolor. He probably also used crayons, pencils, inks & probably some other things on a paper. This is from the modern time, and people payed a lot for it. It was worth so much. I chose it because it is unique from other paintings. The colors and the value don’t have so much difference in them. The theme could be anything. -
Drowning Girl
Roy Lichtenstein painted this. He was American. It is an oil and synthetic polymer paint on a canvas. There aren’t a lot of so many different colors but the value is very sensitive and strong. The lines are interesting and the girl that is drowning is an emotional part. I chose it because it is an amazing contemporary art work. The girl looks like she could be dreaming or just trying to escape from the real world. It could mean a lot of things. She looks like she is ready to give up though.
