Patrick Henry led the colonists to over throw the King of Britain
The King of Great Britain was taxing colonist in the United States colonies to pay for the aftermath of the Seven Years War. Obviously, colonists did not want to pay this tax and the King resisted the new Americans colonizations. In 1775 Patrick Henry gave a speech on his thoughts on how the King does not fulfill his people’s needs to the Virginia Convention. -
Venezuela did not conform to Spain’s colonization
Spain was trying to spread colonization all across the globe. They fought with Venezuela to gain their country . With the help of Simón Bolívar Venezuela regained their their independence back after going to war. -

A big country like Great Britain wanted more and more power so they tried to colonize India. India tried to resist their control but Britain was smarter. Britain used the advantage of India’s internal quarrels between the Hindus and Muslims to take advantage of them. -
Political resistance was used in India
While India was trying to gain their independence from Great Britain the decided to use a political resistance technique to get Britain out of their country. English-speaking Indian intellectuals created the Indian National Congress Act which basically demanded the British to leave the Indians so they can govern their own country. -
Some countries used religious mysticism
Some indigenous countries who did not like imperial aggression, used religious mysticism. Countries usually fell back on treating their colonizers with religious practices. This also was not very successful. China used it from 1899 to 1900, and East Africa used it from 1905 to 1907. -
Filipinos declared independence from the United States.
On this date Emilio Aguinaldo declared the Filipinos independence after a two year war with the United States. The war was very unsuccessful for the Filipinos yet they still regained independence. 4,234 Americans died and 16,000 Filipinos died in the war. A lot of smaller indigenous countries like to form a military resistance even though it isn’t as successful.
