  • Impressment of sailors

    Great Britain seized American ships, inspected them, and just took people who were from Great Britain by force. The reason is because no one wanted to enlist in the war. Great Britain made them enlist in the navy.
  • Washington’s Proclamation of Neutrality

    The reason why Washington's Proclamation was important was because he wanted to stay neutral in the war between France and Great Britain. They weren't ready to pick a side either because they had many domestic issues going on within the country itself which is why they stayed neutral.
  • John Jay Treaty

    This was signed by John Jay to help avert war between Great Britain and the United States. It was also created to get rid of conflicts ever since America declared its independence.
  • Washington’s Farewell Address

    Washington's Farewell Address, was when Washington was finally leaving office, the people who wrote it were Washington, Hamilton, and James Madison.
  • Chesapeake-Leopard Affair

    The Affair happened because Leopard a ship wanted the Chesapeake to surrender their ship because they believed they were American people and attempted to make them join the British.
  • Embargo Act 1807

    The Embargo Act closed ports from getting all exports and imports from Great Britain. The reason this act was made by Thomas Jefferson was because Great Britain and France from attempting to mess with the United States' stance on neutrality between both countries.
  • Tecumseh War

    The Tecumseh War was a war against the Native Americans and Great Britain fighting against America. The reason why this war was so important was because it brought in a lot of Native Americans spanning from Florida, all the way to Canada.
  • War Hawks

    War Hawks were people who were Pro-War and wanted the United States to go to war with Great Britain. The person who led this group was the new Speaker of The House Henry Clay, who wanted to go to war with Great Britain.
  • War of 1812

    The War of 1812 was fought against Great Britain because of the Impressment of American sailors who were being basically kidnapped by Great Britain and forced to enlist in the navy.
  • Tecumseh's Death

    The death of Tecumseh was important because Native Americans moved around and went to Indian reservations. Without a leader, they had no one who could guide them in the time of war. It also made the British surrender because their Native American allies fell apart they had to retreat.
  • Hartfold Convention

    People from all around the United States came to discuss what were they gonna do about the war and what the plan was. This was done in secret and what they did was drafted constitutional amendments and attempted to strengthen the militia. So they could fight Great Britian.
  • Treaty of Ghent

    It was a treaty that was signed between Great Britain and the United States. The reason this was signed was because Great Britain agreed to give up the land they had and work together to end the Slave Trade.
  • Battle of New Orleans

    The Battle of New Orleans happened because the news of the treaty being signed was late to Great Britain and they believed that they were still fighting in War. This was a good battle for Andrew Jackson because it made him a national hero during the time.
