deficit spending is when the government spends more money than they have. One of the causes of th finacial problems was the mushroom finacial crisis. another cause was that Louis XIV had left France deeply in dept. Jacques Necker however helped Louis reduce spending to help get out of debt. -

athird constitution since 1789. five men directory held power from 1795-1799. Polititions turned to Napolean Bonaparte.Napolean eventually became ruler of France. the politicians planned on using him for their own goals. -
louis XVI calls the estates-general
it all happened in may of 1789. The estates-General convened. in June 1789, delegates of the third estate representing the french people declared themselves to be the National assembly. -
storming the bastille
it was between the government and the parisians. more than 800 parisians gathered outside of Bastille. They wanted to be able to have there meetings. They demanded weapons and gun powder. The comander refused to let them and started to open fire on the crowd. The finally broke through and killed five gaurds and the comander. -
National assembly acts
one part of the national assembly acts is the Rights of man. These rights provented men from doing things. it was very based off if the declaration of independence. Another part is the Womens march which involves women from all around coming together and trying to kill the queen because of what she has done. -
threats from abroad
The failed excapes of Louis brought further hostile rumbling from abroad. then there was the declaration of pilnitz. in this declaration, the two monarchs thretnened to intervene to help protect the french monarchy but it was a bluff. the revolutionaries took the threats serious and prepared for battle. -
radicals declared war
it was between the French revolutionaries and European monarchs. It originally started by just arguing and then it moved into the battle field. the Europeans end up winning it. the battle on and off lasted from 1792 to 1815. -
spread of nationalism
the revolution and war gave the French people a strong sense of nationalism. it is a strong feeling of pride and devotion to the country. by 1793 france was a nations in arms. -
monarcy is abolished
prussian forces were cutting down raw French recruits. royalist officers were deserting the French army, and joining emigres and others hoping to restore the king's power. the king got killed january 1793. the monarchy is aboblished -
Robespierre and the Reign of Terror
he was the chief of the arcitechs. this event lasted from september 1st 1793 to July 1794. Courts conducted hasty trials, not making them fair. the major engine of terror is the Guillotine. The Guillotine killed thousands of people. the man who invented this machine ended up being killed by it which ended the reign of Terror.
