    The Stamp Act is a law passed by the British in 1765. The British taxed stamps on any paper such as newspapers, documents, and many other paper items. The colonists were very angry about this because now they had to pay money for stamps.

    The Battle of Lexington was the first battle of the American Revolution. This was known as "The shot heard around the world." In the Battle of Concord the Americans won against the British.

    Bunker Hill is a battle that the American Patriots got defeated. But they showed the British that it would be a hard fight.

    The Declaration of Independence is when the colonists decided they did not want to be a part of Britain. The main person who wrote the Declaration of Independence is Thomas Jefferson.
  • Nathan Hale

    Nathan Hale is the first spy for George Washington. He got caught by the British and had to get hanged in public. They think he died sometime in September, 1776.
  • Saratoga

    Saratoga is a battle that proves the Patriots that they can win. The British came down from Canada but didn't know the land very well so they hired the American Indians as a "Tour Guide" . The American Indians noticed they kept getting shot but not the British. So the Native Americans decided to not help the British since they were getting shot. This was a huge turning point in the Revolution. After this battle other countries realized the Colonists may win. So, French allied with the Colonists.

    Arnold is a traitor to Washington. He helped the British because he hadn't got payed in years. He eventually got caught by a spy going to a british ship.

    The French Alliance is when the French helped the Colonists win the Revolution. The French brought navy soldiers for six months to help fight Britain. The French also started war with Britain which helped Washington win.

    Marion is a person who uses hit and run tactics. He also fought against the British.
  • Yorktown

    Yorktown
    Yorktown was the final battle of the American Revolution. Cornwallis the British leader surrendered at Yorktown. After the British surrendered they finally decided to give the colonies independence.
