    Louisiana Purchase
    In 1803, a small war hungry man, Napoleon, sold the Louisiana Territory for $15 Million Dollars. The price of the territory was a steal, it was only 4¢ an acre. The territory double the size of the US over night. At first Jackson didn't know if the territory was just desert, but it included fertal land, part of the Rocky mountains and the Mississippi River, which was important for trade to get to New Orlands. The Louisiana Territory Doubled the size of the US, had good land, for $15 Million.

    The Corps of Discovery Expedition
    The Corps of Discovery had one Expedition, to explore the land in the Louisiana Territory. The Corps of Discovery had three main goals, and one was to find a water passage that lead to the Pacific Ocean from the MIssori River. There other goals were to make friends with the Indians, and record all new findings of plants, and animals. They did not find a waterway, but did reach the Pacific Ocean was wher sucessful. The Expedition was a important part to exploring and colonizing

    The war 1812 was between the British and the US but no one knows about this war. The war had such bad communication that the biggest battle at New Orleans happen 15 days after the war. This was forgot about because it ended in a stalemate and nobody won. Americans gained a new sense of pride that again they did not lose to the British. The war of 1812 was between the British and US it was forgotten about, but gave Americans a new sense of pride.

    Andrew Jackson took over the Florida territory before we bought it in 1819. Andrew Jackson went to Florida and over took it from Spain even though we bought it for $5 million. The Adams Onis Treaty gave us the Florida territory for $5 million and settled boundary disputes. Even though we bought it we also stole it. In 1819 we bought the Florida territory for $5 million as part of Adams Onis Treaty.

    The Monroe doctrine keeps foreign powers and countries out of America. The Monroe Doctrine said to any foreign powers or countries to not come to the US and colonize. It's so that any foreign country or powers coming over here and getting involved in political affairs will be an act of war. The Monroe doctrine was like a wall between Europe and Asia and America. The Monro doctrine stopped foreign powers and countries from colonizing America and getting involved in politics.

    During the 1830s and 40s Andrew Jackson relocated the Indians in Florida and Georgia on the Trail of Tears. During the 1830s and 40s Andrew Jackson relocated all Indians so that settlers could mine gold. He sent the Indians on the Trail of Tears to Oklahoma. Some Indians like the Cherokee resisted until forced to go by gun. Indian removal act was a sad act but was done for Americans by Andrew Jackson.

    After a decade of being independent Texas was annexed into America. Mexico fought against Texas for independence but, Mexico lost. Texas became an independent country for about a decade. James K Polk then annex Texas in 1845. Texas was a independent country, until annexed into America by James K Polk.

    54, 40 or fight we want the Oregon Territory this was the phrase James K Polk used to secure the Oregon Territory. We had a joint plan with the British that works for 15 years. James K Polk threaten to fight if he didn't get the whole Oregon Territory. After negotiations they split their territory on the 49 parallel line. Oregon Territory was the land shared between America and British. James K Polk wanted to take the territory for Manifest Destiny.

    Mexican-American War and the Treaty of Guadalupe Hildago
    In 1848, we acquired the southwest coast after the Mexican-American war. America offered to buy the southwest coast of America, but Mexico denied it. After the denial Mexico and America went to war. Eventually America gets the land after the Treaty Guadalupe Hildago is signed which gives us the land for the price of $15 million.
