The early stages of Internet were invented
A US military/Pentagon progect started what was to be known as the Internet. The Internet helps people communicate faster, learn more, and in general makes life easier. On the other hand it can be horribly misused, bad information, viruses, lies, etc. circulate through the internet, with no way of controling them. -
First Cell Phone Call made
Created by Martin Cooper, the first cell phone weighed 2.5 pounds! Using cell phones helps people communicate where ever they are, and more conviently. However they can be quite a distraction, and cause rude habits, mostly in later generations. -

Invented by S Cohen and H Boyer, Genetic Engineering was used to manufacture proteins like insulin, interferon, and growth hormone. which is good, but not all are really good for human consumption. It can also be used to produce better crops and animals by selecting the ones with the best genetics. -

Bill Gates and Paul Allen form a partnership called Microsoft to write computer software, the first microprocessor-based computer. Has programs availble right on the desktop, and helped create the computer as we know it. -
SPACE SHUTTLE: FIRST REUSABLE SPACECRAFT
It is used for satellite delivery and retrieval, orbital servicing, round-trip service for science instruments, and laboratory research in space. It saves money, since before they could only be used once, and now can be used multiple times. -
Hubble Space Telescope
Designed to get closer more detailed looks at space, invented by NASA. It is also highly expensive and breaks often, and has to be repaired. -
DVD (Digital Video Disc) invented.
DVDs are smaller then previous movie storage, and has more uses and settings. -
iPod
Apple Computers announced their portable music digital player the iPod. This is a lot like the "seashell radios" in Fahrenheit 451. They are more convient for music listening, and each person can listen to their own music type. However it makes people less social. -
Youtube
YouTube the online video sharing and viewing community, was invented by Steve Chen, Chad Hurley and Jawed Karim. Music videos, homemade videos, and other random things can be viewed easily, and uploaded easily.
