Colombus Left Spain
Chrisopher Coloumbus departed Spain to Indian where he hoped to find riches and spices. He sailed 3 ships- the Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria- on his monumentous journey. -
Colony of Jamestown Settled!
People from the Virginia Company sailed to the New World to settle Jamestown. The settlment did not go well the first as many colonists died of starvation and Native attacks. John Smith and Pocahontas are famous historical figures associated with Jamestown. -
Plymouth Colony
Pilgrims sailed over on the Mayflower and settled at Plymouth seeking religious freedom. Important events in Plymouth include the creation of the Mayflower Compact, the First Thanksgiving, and peace with the Native Americans. -
George Washington
Born in Westmoreland, Country to Agustine Washington and his second wife Mary Ball George Washington was the oldest of 6 children all of which d=survived to adulthood. Little is known about his childhood but his fatehr died when he was 11. George grew up mostly with his half-brother Lawrence. -
The French and Indian War or The Seven Years War
The French and Indian War was a dispiute over North American territory. The British won the war and decided to tax the colonists to help pay for the unimaginable costs that were required to fix the damage done. -
Sybil Ludginton
Sybil Ludginton was born in Patterson, New York to Abigal and Colonel Henry Ludginton, an influentional leader to the military and the communtity. Sybil had 11 younger siblings and was often in charge of taking care of them. -
The Stamp Act
The Briish passed a law to force all colonists to pay for all the printed goods, including paper. -
The Quartering Act
The Quartering Act forced all colonists to house soilders in times of war or peace. Some colonists could barely fed theselves but they had to give everything to soilders. -
The Boston Massacre
Also known as the Incident on King Street The Boston Massacre was killing involving 5 dead males and 6 others injured. A mob formed around a Brtish sentery. He fired into the crowd killing 3 and injuring more. 2 more died from wounds. -
The Shot Heard 'Round the World
The Shot Heard 'Round the World or The Battle of Lexington began The Revolutionary War. 137 men were gathered to attack the British but they had to wait more then 2 hours for the British to arrive! Some scouts were sent out but only 1 returned, Thaddeus Bowman. He narrowly escaped. -
Sybil Ludington's Ride
Sybil's father, Colonel Henry Ludington, recived word theat the British were attacking Danbury, Connecticut which was 25 miles from the Ludington's home in New York State. Brave Sybil went to gather her fathers troops and warn the countryside.The route was 40 miles long, on horseback in the pouring rain. Take that, Paul Revere!!
