    Denamrk tried to make Schleswig a part of their country so Denmark, Prussia, and Austria went to war. Denmark surrenders to both Prussia and Austria after 3 months of war. Prussia opposed Austria's idea to make the two duchies into a single independent state in the German confederation.

    As Bismark prepared war on Austria, Prussia was expanding, In 1866 Bismark finally got Austruia to declare war on Prussia. The Prussian Army took advantage of technology and defeated the powerful Austrians in only seven weeks, hense the name the seven weeks war. The Treaty of Prague was the final event that ended the war.
