    Russia joined WWI and was unprepared to handle the military. Germany keep defeating Russia and about 4 million Russain soldiers died in the first year alone.

    Factory workers stormed the Winter Palace and arrested government leaders. This led to Lenin distributing the farm land among peasents a truce with Germany and gave control of the factories to the workers.
