The Battle of Gonzales was a fight between US settlers and Mexican Troops. It started when US settlers refused to hand over a brass cannon. They also attackeed the Mexicans using the cannon. -

The Consultation of 1835 was a meeting held at Washington-On-The-Brazos. Texas degates including Stephen F. Austin and Branch T. Archer attended the Consultation. Delagates discussed war and peace. -

The Declaration of 1835 was created at the Consultation of 1835. It declared that Texans would have a war against mexicans to restore the Constitution of 1835. Texans also wanted independance from Mexico. -

On the morning of December 5,1835 Texans attack Mexican troops. On the third day of fighting Colonel Ben Miliam died. -
Surrender of Mexican Forces in San Antonio
On December 10th 1835 General cos surrendered at San Antonio. The Mexican army agreed not to fight the Texas army again. Cos then returned to Mexico. -

The Runaway Scrape was a time of panic for colonist in East Texas. Colonist gathered their things and ran away. During this time a lot of sickness and hunger. Many people did not survive. -

On February 23, 1835 Santa Anna's huge army arrived at the Alamo. The Mexican army was much bigger than the Texans.
The siege was the beginning of the long Battle of the Alamo. -
Texas Declaration of Independence
The Texas Declaration of Independece was written at the Covention of 1836. Delegates at the convention wrote it in about only one day because they felt it was urgent. It declared texas a free republic from mexico. -

The Battle of the Alamo in San Antonio was a battle between Mexican and Texas troops. Mexican troops told the Texans to surrender, but they refused. The Mexicans eventually won the Battle. -

Battle of Refugio/Coleto (Goliad Massacre)
On March 11, 1836 Fannin was ordered to abanndoned Goliad ,but he did not until the 19th. When Texans encountered the Mexicans they were taken back to Goliad and held as prisoners. -
Constitution of 1836
The Constitution of 1836 is made up of seventeen rights and ten general provisions. It was written by several texas delagates. The Constitution was replaced nine years later. -
Swearing in of Texas Government Officials
During the Convention of 1836 the delagates created a new government a swore In officials. Henry Smith was elected as governer. William Wharton, Branch T. Archer, and Stephen F. Austin were made commissioners.
