Now on Films
Before the year of 1900, the French Brothers figured out how to put lots of "moving" pictures together on a old, classic movie film. They started to record these photos on the films and play them, or show them to the people. This was the main start of the idea of moving pictures, or animation. -
How it started
Animation started with just photo after photo to create a story. Then in 1913 the invention of the celluloid made creating animation a lot easier. So creators didn't have to repeat the drawing, they could just keep the same one on the next slide with they new technology. -
Disney Strikes
After having the celluloid invention for a while, Walt Disney discovered how to create a little show with animation and so he took it up to a new level with adding sound to it. The first disney animated show created was "Steamboat Willie". -
Animated shows
Animated shows became very popular. Tons of shows were created like "Tom and Jerry" and "Betty Boop". These shows came on daily. They were also one of the first shows to be showed on TV in color.l -
Superman Cartoon
Since cartoons were extremely popular on TV still in 1941 producers asked the creator of the comic Superman if they could make it a cartoon. And so the cartoon of Superman was created. -
First full movie
Disney strikes again in 1995 with the release of the first animated movie- "Toy Story". Pixar Animation also helped with creating this film. It took them a while to produce it before it was released in 1995. They had both figured out how to animate on computers which made it more easier than with the celluloid before.
