The steal strike ends in the United States. The steal workers agree to settle, but it put the countrys steal on shorthand, so therefore steal had to be used with decression. -
Prohibition
This is when alcohol. was outlawed in the United States. It was known as the Noble Experiment.It was illegal to trasnport, contain,import and export alcohol. The United States passed the 18th admemdment, 36 states agreed to pass it.Some states had even enforced prohibition before the 18th admendment was passed. -
19th Admendment
This gives women the right to vote legally for the first time. -
Teapot Dome Scandal
This was a bribary scandle at this white house under the administration of President Harding. The Teapot Dome was an oil field in Wyoming that was on public land.The oil had been set aside by President Taft in order to provide some funds for the Navy. The field was put up to bid and a man named Sinclir won. He sold the fields to a man named Dohney. He ended up loaning $100,000 to the Secretary of the Interior , intrest free. THis was considered a bribe. Fall was convicted of accepting bribes. -
Election of Warren G. Harding
Warren G. Harding was elected as president of the United States. He only served from 1921-1923 because he died of a heart attack. He served in the Ohio Senate pervious to running for president. He was known to be conservitve on isues on taxes, public manner. Everyone liked him because he promised to bring the country back to normal after World War I. -
Immagration Quota
Congress passes a restriction on people comming from other countrys to the United States. Too many people were scared of what immagrants were capiable of.The law was aimed at restricting the Southern and Eastern Europeans who were immigrating in large numbers starting in the 1890s, as well as prohibiting the immigration of East Asians and Asian Indians. -
Sacco and Vanzetti
Immagrants from Italy are put on trial for armed robbery and murder. There was no where near enough evidence to convict them, but they were put on trial ,found gulity, and later excuted in the electric chair.It was proven that the "eye witness" was not even able to see the killers from where she was standing. Years after it was found that Sacco was most likely gulity, and Vanzetti was most likely innocent. -
Fatty Arbuckle Scandal
The famous actor was accused of raping and killing a young scarlet at a party in Hollywood. There was not a lot of evidence to convict him, but the public was quick to blame him. -
First Dose of Insulin was given
Banting(the medical resercher who discovered it) believed that he could find a cure for the "sugar disease" in the pancreas. In 1921, they isolated insulin and successfully tested in on diabetic dogs, lowering the dogs' blood sugar level. The first dose of insulin was given to a boy that was 14 years old and dying of diabetes. The dose saved his life. -
Ford Motor Company
At this date the Ford Motor company exceeded the one billion dollar mark. This is a huge amount of money today, but back then it was worth a lot more. -
Klansmen March
During this march there were fourty thousand white men that lined the streets of Washington DC. They were dressed in all white and in thier pointy hats. This was done to intiminate people that were not white. At this poit the Klan had made a huge comeback with four to five million member joining. Not all of them were even from the south to many peoples surprise. -

A man named Charles Lindbergh makes the first solo trasnalantic fight. He made it to paris after taking off from New York. This made Charles Lindbergh a national hero. The reason it was such a big deal was becuase it made the minds of people wonder about things that were to come in the future. -
Herbert Hoover Becomes President
Herbert Hoover was elected into the Presidency of the United States. His campain slogan was "a chicken in every pot, and a car in every grage." He ended up crushing Al Smith who was the democratic canidate. This helped maintain the Rebublican domination in the white house. -
Stock Market Crashes
The stock market crashes. This signials the great depression. The stock market peaks in September 1929 at 381.17---it did not reach that height again until 1954. THis was the beggining of financial disaster in the country. This would lead to desprate times. With desprate times comes desprate people. People were about to start panicing about being able to pay bessary bills and being able to put food on the table for thier family. -
Saint Valentines Day Massacre
The Saint Valentines Day Massacre was the single most bloodiest incident in a decade long battle between two Chicago Mobs. The massacre was over terf for bootlegging. Where beer was outlawed, people would pay a lot of money for it, so therefore it was a profitable buniess . During the massacre Al Capones mob killed six members from Bugs Morons mob.
