Women provided care for the confererate army and the union army during the civil war. -
Spanish American War
Women helped treat sick soldiers. Because of the performance of these women; it led to the form of the Army Nurses Corps. -

In 1908, the US the US created the Navy Nurses Corps. -
World War 1 (1917-1918)
More than 21,480 nurses served in stateside and overseas. More than 400 women died in the line of duty. Mostly because of a Flu known as the Spainish flu. -
World War 2
More than 60,000 women nurses served in ww2. Very Few died. -
Korean War (1950-1953)
In the korean war more than 500 women nurses served overseas mainly in japanese hospitals. -
Vietnam War (1965-1975)
More than 7000 women served in combat as military nurses behind the front lines. -
First Woman in the ANG
The first woman was swarn in to the Air National Guard. -
War in the Persian Gulf (1990-1991)
About 40,000 women served in the Persion Gulf War.
