    • Opens and closes hands.
    • Holds head steadily when held up
    • Lifts head and chest when on stomach.
    • Swipes at objects
    • Brings hands togeter

    4th MONTH
    • Supports upper body on hands when lying on stomach.
    • Shows prefrence for red and blue over yellow.
    • May began to use vowels or contenents in babbling.
    • Grasps rattle.
    • Puts hands in mouth .
    • Rolls from tummy to back .

  • 5th MONTH

    5th MONTH
    • Rocks on stomach while kicking legs and making swimming motions with arms.
    • reaches out and grabs toy.
    • Turn head in direction of sound.
    • knows positive speech from unhappy speech

  • 6th MONTH

    6th MONTH
    • Passes a block from one hand to another.
    • puts objects into mouth with hand.
    • may began creeping
    • Recognizes basic sounds of negitive language.

  • 7th MONTH

    7th MONTH
    • Rolls over both ways.
    • Sits up steadily.
    • Stands with assistance
    • Knows parents and caregivers by there voice and by sight.
    • Can follow a path of moving objects with eyes
    • Babbles with strings of vowels and consnets
    • grabs for objects with raking motions.

  • 8th MONTH

    8th MONTH
    • Pulls self up to standing.
    • Bangs blocks together. -Propels self by arms, knees, or sqirming motion.
    • Looks at objects with sustained attention.

  • 9th MONTH

    9th MONTH
    • Uses index finger to poke.
    • Puts objects in container.
    • Leans foward to pick up toys.
    • Notices small objects. -May start accosiating sounds with objects.

  • 10th MONTH

    10th MONTH
    • Crawls well
    • Can put objects in containers.
    • uses index finger to start pointing
    • Imitates new word sounds more frequently

  • 11th MONTH

    11th MONTH
    -Walks while holding on to furniture or crib rails for support
    - Uses gestures like shaking head for no
    -Releases objects intentionaly
    -grasps with thumb and forefinger

  • 12 MONTHS

    12 MONTHS
    • May walk a few steps alone
    • Stands alone for a short time
    • Picks up small objects using thumb and forefinger
    • puts objects into and takes them out of containers
    • holds and drinks from cups

  • 1 MONTH

    1 MONTH
    • Lifts head and turns it from one side to another when placed on stomach -Focuses on objects from about 10 inches to up to 3 feet away. -reacts to parents voice.

  • 2nd MONTH

    2nd MONTH
    • Makes sound such as "ohh" and "ahh" .
    • Watches objects move about 6 inches away from face.
    • Responds to more sound and different voices.
