    The Birth of a Genius
    Galileo Galilei was born in Pisa, Italy. He was born to Vincenzio Galilei & Giulia Ammunnati. Vincenzio was a musician, who later moved to Florence, Italy to make better money. Galileo was always tutored from an early age.

    Japan Invades

    Japan unsuccessfully invades Korea. Toyotomi Hideyoshi led the newly unified Japan into Korea. The second invasion later was also a fail. Japan tried for years, but they didn't prevail.

    Theory of the Sun is the Middle of the Universe

    Copernicus makes Galileo beleive that the sun is the middle of the universe. He then became confident of the theory. Then he started doing tests to prove the theory. Later he was called to trial by the Pope to plead guilty for his actions of trying to prove Copernicus's Theory right.

    Galileo had to face the Roman Catholic Church. Pope Urban made Galileo plead guilty. Galileo fought back, but to no extent did the church agree with him. Pope Urban rigged the trial up and Galileo was put into house arrest.

    In 1593, Galileo invented the first thermometer. It was the first device to ever measure temperature. The thermometer was cylinder made out of glass with clear liquid in it. The thermometer was not was accurate at all.

    Pope Urban originally liked Galileo. He let him publish books about Copernicus's theory. Then Galileo published a book about the theory. Pope Urban was strong believer of Aristotle's theories and was in outrage.

    Galileo's daughter died in April, 1634. It was hard on Galileo becuase he loved his daughter too much. So to take his mind off of his daughter's death he started testing Copernicus's theory. Virginia supported her father for whatever he did.

He had asked to be buried next to his ancestors, but friends and family thought the Catholic Church would do something to him, so they buried him in a secret place. Later the church found him and cut his fingers off.
