    President Reagan and House speaker Tip O’Neill worked together to create a bipartisan plan to fund Social Security.

    The Supreme Court struck down the new law that gave the president a lot more power when it comes to vetoes.

    President Bush persuaded congress to create a new federal department, know as the Department of Homeland Security.
