    American revolution
    the British and French war. the British won the war but it came with a high cost and to help repay the debt the British gov. decided to place taxes on colonists which included the stamp act and the tea act, and also the Townsend act.

    no taxation without representation; by 1773 the colonists had already begun protesting. they refused to buy the British goods and some dressed as Indians and they dumped the tea off of a British ship. And by 1775 colonists and British soldiers exchanged shot at Lexington and concord. That was the very first battle of the American Revolution.
