    Pilgrims arrive in Plymouth Rock
    The Pilgrims left England in search of religious freedom from their British king. They settled in Massachusetts and named their colony Plymouth Rock.

    Fifty three of the surviving Pilgrims got together to celebrate a successful harvest season. They were joined by indians for the meal now known as Thanksgiving.

    British troops came in and shot the colonists. Many Boston residents were killed.

    Colonists dressed as indians dumped 342 chests of tea into the Boston harbor in protest against the tea tax.

    After the Boston Tea Party ,the British Parliament sent out a list of things they considered intolerable. This led to the colonists beginning the Revolutionary War, which started in Massachusetts.

    The Battles of Lexington and Concord
    "The shot heard around the world" was the start of the Revolutionary War. The minutemen fought against government officials who were trying to take their guns away. The minutemen fought back and shot and killed several government employees.
