1944 Education Act
The Education Act 1944 changed the education system for secondary schools also known as the Butler Act. The act introduced the system of secondary education and made secondary education free for all pupils. System consisted of three different types of secondary school: grammar schools, secondary technical schools and secondary modern schools. It allowed for the creation of comprehensive schools. -
Newsom Report 1963
this was entitled " half our future" the report argued that the future of the country depended on better education for those of below average ability -
The Plowden Report 1967
This report was where children and their primary schools embraced a philosophy of pedagogy for the priumary school that rejected the concept of genetic ability alone but stressed the influence of environmental factors in learning and edevelopment. Every child is an individual andlearns at their own pace. Areas covering physical, intellectual and emotional. -
School leaving age
school leaving ages was raised to 16, this has particular effect on me because if this hadn't had taken place i would of left school

Whitehall infants school
whitehall infants was the same building as my nursery, schools were still split up into boys and girls. The school is well over a hundred years old. -

Bluecoat was an amazing time for myself i went through a huge transition as a person, life changing is an under statement. -
New Labour and Education 1997-2998
When labour came in the new things they wanted to concentrate on better teaching, not just what to teach but how to teach it. -
Curriculum 2000
Curriculum 2000 was a reform of the A Level examinations in the UK. It was introduced in September 2000. An A Level now consists of six units studied over two years. Normally, three units are assessed at the end of the first year, and make up a stand-alone Advanced Subsidiary (AS Level) qualification. Another three modules are assessed at the end of the second year, which together constitutes a A level. -
Bluecoat sixth form
i went on to sixth form but making sure i stayed on at bluecoat as i knew the teachers and i knew the school, further more i knew that if i went in to sixth form i would achieve more than if i went to college. -
Higher Education
After completing my A levels i got the opportunity to further myself and went on to to my degree in business information systems at Sheffield Hallam University. -
Teaching Career
After i finished my degree i spent a year deciding what i wanted to do with myself. Coming back from touring india I decided I was going into teaching and so i went through the channels and i joined Wolverhampton University to do my PGCE.
