This tragic loss of his wife must endowed Bradford with a compassionate and caring nature. Along with his compassionate nature, Bradford must have been a strong leader, a good decision maker, and a good judge of character, in order to govern such devout people, like the Pilgrims. The Pilgrims must have trusted Bradford’s judgment and guidance strongly, since they allowed him to be governor for 30 years.
