    9/11 Terrorist Attacks
    On September 11, 2001, Al-Qaeda terrorists changed the world forever. That morning, hijackers took control of four commercial flights with the intent to cause destruction. Two hijackers crashed into each of the twin towers, causing the collapse of both. Another plane crashed into the Pentagon, while the final plan crash landed in a field in Pennsylvania after the passengers learned of the situation. This event helped bring Americans together to help everyone through this trial.

  • Red Sox win the World Series

    Red Sox win the World Series
    In 1918, the Boston Red Sox made one of the most notorious trades in sports history. They gave away Babe Ruth, one of the greatest power hitters of all time, to their rivals the New York Yankees. After that fateful day, the Red Sox were unable to win a World Series. However, this all changed in 2004. Led by future hall of famers David Ortiz and Pedro Martinez, and MVP Manny Ramirez, the Red Sox changed history and accomplished a feat no one thought possible.

    Apple Releases the Iphone
    Computers and smartphones had existed for years, but the iphone changed the industry forever. Never had a phone so small and efficient become so accessible to the average person. Steve Jobs invented it with the help of his team and turned Apple into a tech giant. The iphone allowed users to access the internet anywhere in the world and helped create a new industry of smart devices and wireless connection. Today, over half of Americans own an iphone.

    Covid-19 Pandemic
    The Covid-19 pandemic affected everyone from all walks of life. Businesses were closed, schools were virtual, and sports were cancelled. People were forced to wear masks every where and some were quarantined in their own homes. It seemed every event attempted to connect people virtually in order to restore some normalcy. However, these attempts were unable to replace natural socialization.

    Russian Invasion of Ukraine
    On February 24, 2022, Russia invaded and occupied parts of Ukraine, declaring war. Russian leader Vladmir Putin wanted to reclaim parts of Ukraine that had once been under Soviet control. Millions of citizens were displaced as they fled the country. The USA and other countries gave assistance to Ukraine to aid them against their common enemy Russia. Critics argued that foreign involvement was unnecessary, however supporters argued Ukraine needed help.
