This story shows that God will test your faith but at the end of the day he will always be here and help you when you need it.

Joseph is sold into slavery by his brothers. This connects with the NT because without Josephs help with his dreams he could not have saved all those people in Egypt. If God didn't guide Joseph, Jesus would not be on Earth at all because Jesus was not born. This also connects to the NT because of the location. In the NT Egypt is mentioned as a place of sin and slavery. In Matthew 2:15 it talks about bringing the people out of Egypt.

This relates to the NT passages because Joseph created one of the twelve tribes of Israel. The current location of that place is Northern Palestine. This connects to the OT because of the twelve tribes that were created. There are now only 2 tribes because 10 of the tribes joined together as one. A moment in my life that I could relate to in Genesis 12-24 was when God told Abram that Sarah was going to have a child. I could relate to this moment because when I needed to go to an interview with the acceptance rate of 35%. When my dad told me that I had an interview I was already laughing because I was very sure that I could not be accepted to this school in Australia. But at the end of the interview, the interviewer told me that I was accepted. I relate to Sarah because I laughed.
