The GPD is currently investigating four occurrences of battery and exposure of sexual organs that took place on Saturday, February 22, 2014 after 3:00am, Wednesday, February 26, 2014 after 12:00pm, and Saturday, March 1, 2014 after 3:30am. The incidents took place between the 100 and 200 block of NW 17th St. and the 900 block of West University Avenue across from the University of Florida campus. -

The UFPD is currently investigating the occurrence of a Battery that took place on Sunday, August 31, 2014 just before 1:00 am. The incident occurred in the area of 500 SW 13th Street. -

The following information was reported from the Gainesville Police Department (GPD) today and is being distributed to the campus community due to the crime’s close proximity to the University of Florida campus: A 21 year old victim reported to GPD at approximately 5am that an unknown suspect entered her residence and attempted to sexually assault her. Friends who were visiting the victim awoke and chased the suspect out of the residence. -

The following information was reported from the Gainesville Police Department (GPD) today and is being distributed to the campus community due to the crime’s close proximity to the University of Florida campus: A 21 year old female reported to GPD that at approximately 1:30am, Tuesday, October 27, 2015 she left a midtown bar and began to walk to the Townhouse Apartments located at 1740 NW 3rd Pl. The victim indicated she was approached by an unknown suspect who forced her to the ground. -

The following information was reported from the Gainesville Police Department (GPD) today and is being distributed to the campus community due to the crime’s close proximity to the University of Florida campus: The GPD are currently investigating a sexual battery incident involving a 19 year old female that occurred Thursday, July 21, 2016 at approximately 2:00am in the area of 1620 West University Avenue (behind the Chain Reaction and 101 Cantina). -

The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) confirmed the arrest of the suspect in the sexual battery incident referenced in the Timely Warning issued on July 21, 2016. After conducting their initial investigation, the GPD identified, located, questioned, and took the suspect into custody. Arrested and charged with the crime of sexual battery is Cristopher L. Shaw, 34 of Laurel, Maryland. -

The following information was reported from the Gainesville Police Department (GPD) today and is being distributed to the campus community due to the crime’s close proximity to the University of Florida campus: The GPD is currently investigating an attempted sexual battery incident involving an 18 year old female that occurred Sunday, October 30, 2016 at approximately 1:00am on SW 8th Street near University Avenue.
