When it came out it kind of just seemed like a bigger iphone, but no phone. Now you go to pretty much any business and they're having you pay almost always through an ipad with the card reader adapters. -
Rover lands on Mars (2012)
Rover made by NASA lands on mars with live footage streaming back on earth. This is the first time we've ever had proof that we could even make it to a planet so far away. This opens so many possibilities to the point where we might be able to visit Mars/possibly other planets in our lifetime. -
Alexa (2014)
Amazon's Alexa first generation assistant comes out with the speaker called "Echo". This assistant is very useful around the house for setting reminders/timers/ordering items. -
Oculus Rift (2016)
The first polished VR system, the Oculus Rift comes out after 4 years of development funded by a kickstarter in 2012. Used primarily for gaming, but has proven very useful for many different specific skill building. For example, they use oculus headsets paired with the racing seats/steering wheel combo to coach defensive driving. There was also a F1 championship that was conducted virtually using them during covid times. -
Tesla Model 3 (2017)
When you think of a Tesla, you think of the Model 3. Tesla really is the first company to make a legitimate full electric car that's road legal. The aim was to reduce emission gasses, and they delivered. New versions with longer range are now coming out to close the gap between gas and electric vehicles even closer.
