    Before using the flash drive, in order to save data from a computer, it was saved on cd-rom discs, or even before that, floppy disks. It would take awhile for documents to be downloaded onto the computer and to be saved onto the cd, so when the flash drive was invented, it was revolutionary. Data could be saved in instant and downloaded as well. Though it had very little memory at first, in time it would grow to become the most common tool in computing, even to this day.

    The iPod was truly revolutionary for its time. A device that hold up to 1000 songs was beyond one's imagination. What people would use for music were mp3 players (if you had the money for one), cd players, or walkmans. 5GB of storage for $400 was a steal.

    BlackBerry is known as the pioneer of the smartphone, especially their model of the 7290 while full keyboard capabilities, Bluetooth, WLAN 802.11b ("WiFi"), and color.

    Even though it may seem pointless, the blu-ray disc is an astounding feat for compact discs. The amount of data that could be stored within a single disc and produce such great quality and sound at the same time was/is amazing. To this day and age, the blu-ray disc is an industry standard for any and all physical/digital media.

    One of the biggest steps taken in the progression of technology was the release of the iPhone. Although, not the first fully touch screen phone, it was the first finely tuned touch screen phone to hit the market and offer full internet capabilities. This phone pioneered the standards and improvements of what we call the modern phone.
