Invented by the company M-Sytems. These drives consisted of flash memory encased in a small form factor container with a USB interface. They could be used for data storage and in the backing up and transferring of files between various devices (Computer History Museum, n.d). -
Windows XP is Released
Created by Microsoft, Known for its bright color schemes, easy-to-use interface, and stability, XP would go on to have the longest lifespan of any operating system released by Microsoft. Many of us grew up using this software. -
Myspace Founded
Created by Tom Anderson, MySpace was one of the largest social media websites during its time. Myspace helped start the wave of what social media has become today. Then and now throughout all devices and computers people are connected through different social media platforms. -
Dropbox Founded
Dropbox is founded by Arash Ferdowsi and Drew Houston. Dropbox was designed as a cloud-based service used for convenient storage and access to files. Users could upload files via the web to Dropbox’s vast server farms, and could instantly access them on any of their devices or computers that had the Dropbox client installed. Cloud-based services began here and we still utilize them today across the board. -
Macbook AIr Released
Apple introduced their first ultra notebook – a light, thin laptop with a high-capacity battery, and wifi capabilities. This would begin the launch of one of the most used laptops.
