The Boston Tea Party
Thomas Hutchinson allowed 3 ships to enter Boston Harbor carrying tea. Before the tax could be collected,Bostonians took action. It was a cold December night,radical towns people stormed the ships and throw 342 chests of tea into the water. After that,not a single chest of tea bound for the 13 colonies reached its destination, and not a single American colonists had a cup of tea. -

The First Continental Congress
On September 5, 1774, delegates from 12 colonies met at the First Continental Congress to discuss how to react to the Intolerable Acts. They decided to boycott British goods and ban the export of American goods to Britain if the Intolerable Acts would not be repealed. In order to effectively carry out the boycott, the delegates also established the Continental Association and called for the Second Continental Congress that was to be held if their protest would not achieve the desired effect. -
Battles of Lexington and Concord
On April 18, 1775, the British governor of Massachusetts sent several hundred British troops to seize the colonists’ military stores at Concord. The British intentions were soon discovered by the Patriot colonists who decided to prevent the British from carrying out their plan. Local militiamen gathered at Lexington to intercept the British troops. These managed to repulse the outnumbered militiamen in early morning of April 19 and then proceeded towards Concord. -
Adoption of the Declaration of Independence
On July 4, 1776, the Second Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence which formally proclaimed the 13 colonies as independent. These right include the right to life,liberty and happiness. However, it opens a description explainig why the colonies decided to overthrown their ruler and choose to take their place as a separete nation. -

In 1782,the British evacuate Savannah,and head to South Carolina. The remaining British soldiers ere transported to the West Indies. James Wright was the only colonial governor in Georgia, and resumed his role until the British left. Than 3 years later he died. -

The Continental Congress of the U.S ratifies the preliminary peace treaty with Great Britain in November 1782. On September 3, 1783,the treaty of Paris was signed with the U.S,Great Britain,Spain and France,bringing to an end the Revolutionary War. -
