    3. Street meat became popular with unusual foods, and these included sheep feet.

    1. Congress passed the Pure Food and Drug Act due to medicine having unsafe substances.
    2. Congress also passed the Meat Inspection Act due to how people were killing animals.
    3. Rats and their feces were found in breakfast sausages very often, and they used pickles to cover the smell.

    1. Most of their foods was canned corn beef, bread, and biscuits.
    2. By winter of 1916 the flour supply was so short that they used dried ground turnips to make bread.
    3. The main food became pea soup that contained horse meat.
