1993: The First Web Browser
Created by Tim Berners-Lee and Robert Cailliau, the World Wide Web (now known as the Nexus) allowed people to search what they need, regardless of how technologically savvy you are. This paved the way for websites like Google, which are obviously important. -
1995: Amazon
While Jeff Bezos' website is now known for the variety of products you can buy online, Amazon started as a modest online book store. The immediate success lead Bezos to expand the website into the online superpower it is now. -
1997: MP3 Players
SaeHan Information Systems, a small South Korean company, invented the first ever MP3 player. While it was only capable of holding about 18 songs, it paved the way for the iPod and all other media players. -
1997: Google
Following the introduction of the World Wide Web, Larry Page and Sergey Brin started Google in 1996 as a research project, and the domain google.com was created in 1997. The concept of using a different criteria to search for more relevant information grew Google into the world-renown browser that it is now.
