  • Linux

    The Linux OS was created in 1991 by Linus Torvalds during his second year at the university of Helsinki. Today it is one of the largest platforms for internet companies.
  • SMS

    The SMS text message has been in concept for a long time, but on December 3,1992 engineer Neil Papworth sent a message to Richard Jarvis Vodafone Orbital 901 handset. the message was "Merry Christmas". SMS is still the currently used way phones send text messages to one another.

    GPS or global Positioning System was created as a tool of war for the United States to guide missiles and bombs, Today it is used to get to places everyday.
  • Google Search Engine

    Google was co-founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. The two were writing a search engine called backrub and after the success of the engine they registered the domain name google in 1997, but google wasn't officially incorporated as a company until 1998.
