  • The Assembly Line

    Henry Ford created the assembly line, a production strategy that workers do one particular task and pass their product to the next worker and task. This process sped up production and cut costs.

    World War 1

    World War 1 started when Archduke Ferdinand was shot. Austria-Hungary and Serbia had conflict that brought in their alliances with bigger, more forceful countries including Russia, France, and Great Britain against Germany.
    The war ended when Germany surrendered. The Treaty of Versailles was the written peace agreement.

  • Sinking of the Lusitania

    Though the Lusitania was a British ocean liner, there were American passengers that drowned when the Germans sunk the ship. This outraged most Americans and was a contributing factor to the US joining the war against Germany.

  • ZImmermann Telegram

    This telegram from Germany to Mexico proposed military alliance with together if Mexico would push the US to war to take back Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico. This note did push the US into war, but not because of Mexico.

  • The US Enters WW1

    Between sinking the Lusitania, to sinking three other American trading ships, to sending the Zimmermann Note, Germany was practically begging the US to join the war against them.

  • 18th Amendment

    The eighteenth amendment banned the producing, transporting, and sale of alcoholic beverages. It was passed because many believed that alcohol was the cause of criminal activities, health issues, and low productivity. It was repealed only 14 years later.

  • Treaty of Versailles

    Written peace agreement that officially ended WW1. Basically, it cast most blame on Germany, so they were disarmed, fined, and stripped of some surrounding territories.
