    The Canadian Charter of rights and freedoms is a is a bill of rights for the Constitution of Canada. It forms the first part of the Constitution Act, This is a significant event in Canadian history because it gives Canadians basic rights and freedoms, which made Canada a better place. The Charter guarantees certain political rights to Canadian citizens and civil rights of everyone in Canada from the policies and actions of all areas and levels of government.

    Marc Garneau: First Canadian in Space
    Marc Garneau was the first Canadian in space taking part in three flights in NASA Space shuttles. He flew on the shuttle Challenger, STS-41-G from October 5 to 13 as payload specialist. The historical significance was that it gained Canada popularity. It also enabled other Canadians to go to space by posing as a role model. Later on in his life, he was appointed executive vice-president of the Canadian Space Agency, and became its president on November 22, 2001

The people did not like this because they did not believe that Quebec should be a distinct society. This is historically significant because this event caused Canadians to hate Brian Mulroney.

    This is a picture shows a Quebec soldier and a Mohawk. This was during the Oka Crisis. The Oka crisis was a 78 day standoff between the town of Oka and the Mohawk people because the town wanted to build a golf course on sacred Mohawk land. This land was "borrowed" by the Quebec government during WW2 but was never returned despite the protests of the Mohawk people. This event is significant to Canadian history because it shows how poorly the government treated Aboriginal people.

    The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), is a agreement signed by Canada, Mexico, and the United States. It superseded the Canada-US Free Trade Agreement. The NAFTA has two parts to it: the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation and the North American Agreement on Labor Cooperation. It is historically significant because it increased the trading between Canada, US, and Mexico. This allows these three countries to trade freely.

The purpose of this Referendum was for Quebec to gain sovereignty.The historical significance of this referendum was that Quebec came very close to accomplishing seperatism. The votes were almost a tie, with 50.58% voting "No" and 49.42% voting "Yes". This referendum featured the largest voter turnout in Quebec history.

This was significant because Canada became now people hacve the right to marry whoever they want, regardless the gender.
