  • George H.W. Bush becomes President

    George H. W. Bush was the 41st president of the United States. Bush was greatly involved with international affairs which lead to the end of the era of the Cold War. After the fall of the Berlin wall, Bush successfully pushed for the reunification of Germany.
  • Tax Reform Act of 1986

    The Tax Reform Act of 1986 was passed by congress and signed into place by President Ronald Reagan. It consisted of three major reforms: eliminated or reduced the value of many tax deductions, removed millions from tax rolls, and reduced the number of tax brackets.
  • Bill Clinton becomes President

    Bill Clinton was the 42nd President. Clinton signed into law the North American Free Trade Agreement but failed to pass his national health care reform plan. He was impeached but acquitted by the senate. He was charged for obstruction of justice and abuse of power.

    The North American Trade Agreement (NAFTA) was signed by President Clinton. This is an agreement between the United States, Canada, and Mexico that created a trading group between the three countries. The main goal was to eliminate tariff and non-tariff barriers and also acted as an investment.

    The World Trade Organization (or WTO) is the only global organization that deals with the international rules of trade. This organization ensures peace and smoothness when it comes to trading internationally.
  • George W. Bush becomes Presient

    George W. Bush was the 43rd President of America. It was during his term when the Twin Towers were destroyed. This event led him to declare a global war on terrorism and order an invasion in Afghanistan.
  • 9/11

    The original World Trade Center, located in Manhattan, was destroyed in a terrorist attack including two hijacked commercial airlines. This attack not only left the city in ruins, but also took the lives of many innocent people. This event leads to security and laws when it comes to planes and airports to become much more strict. This also caused President Bush to become more suspicious as it comes to terrorists and caused lots of tension between the US and some middle eastern countries.
