  • The Royal Wedding

    In 1981, the whole world was captivated by the royal wedding of Prince Charles and Diana Spencer. It is noted as one of the most famous weddings in history. Diana was loved by the entire world and hailed by people everywhere. The wedding was not only beautiful but extravagant.
  • Titanic Wreckage is Discovered

    On September 1, 1985, pieces of the famous Titanic were found. The luxurious ship hit an iceberg went down about 73 years prior to any of its pieces being found. More than 1,500 lives were lost on the Titanic along with expensive treasures. It gave a lot to closure to the mystery and angst of the event.
  • The Challenger Explodes

    The Challenger launched on January 28, 1986, and tragically exploded shortly after take-off. All 7 passengers died; this included a civilian school teacher, one specialist, and five astronauts. Millions were watching from home on their TV and had to see the tragedy occur.
  • Black Monday

    Black Monday refers to the mid-October day of 1987 when stock markets around the world crashed. It first crashed in Hong Kong, then the UK, and then to America. It is noted as one of the greatest stock markets crashes in U.S history. The crash caused fear and panic to reside across the world.
  • The World Wide Web is Invented

    English scientist Tim-Berners Lee invented the "World Wide Web" in 1989. His invention changed technology and our world forever. Technology has rapidly advanced since then and we now use this "world wide web" for virtually everything.
  • The Oklahoma City Bombing

    On April 19, 1995, a domestic terrorist bombed a federal building in Oklahoma City. It was said to have been done by a truck bomb and caused immense damage. It was the largest terrorist attack at the time and killed 168 people. Over 600 were injured.
  • Clinton is Almost Impeached

    In December of 1998, Bill Clinton was on the verge of being impeached by the U.S. House of Representatives after lying about an affair with a White House employee. The scandal was huge and had major publicity. When being questioned, Clinton lied and was found guilty of doing so. Because of this, he was almost impeached but served out the rest of his term by luck.
  • 9/11 Terrorist Attack

    On September 11, 2001, one of the worst and most treacherous events in U.S. history occurred. Out of nowhere, terrorists crashed into the twin towers in NYC and the Pentagon in Washington D.C. Thousands of lives were lost and irreversible damage was done. The tragic event left an imprint on our country forever.
