    A treaty signed between the United States and Panama that ensured that the country of Panama would gain control of the Panama Canal after 1999.The United States previously owned the canal since 1903. The treaties were named after the two people who signed ita: U.S. President Jimmy Carter and the Commander of Panama's National Guard, General Omar Torrijos.

    The Camp david accords began on september 17th, 1978 it was a 12 day process without anyone knowing that there were negotiations going on between Israeli Prime Minister Menachem and Egyptian President Anwar El Sadat after 12 days a treaty was signed. There were two agreements the first one being A Framework for Peace in the Middle East and it was signed at the white house and was witnessed by president Jimmy carter. .

    A revolution takes place in Nicaragua between the Sandinistas and the Contras. The Sandinistas were a communist group , and the US feared of a communist nation so close to home, so they began to support the Contras so they do not end up in a bad situation.

    When congress passes this amendment it no longer can support the Contras. This stops the government from spending money, giving them equipment and having talking relationships with them. Some of the government still wanted to do so but they could not, this amendment later causes conflict.

    It was a terrorist attack that happened in beirut, lebanon where two truck bombs struck 2 separate buildings housing (MNF) mostly americans, 241 U.S servicemen were killed. The group called itself the “islamic Jihad” they were the bombers and the reason for doing it was to get the MNF out of Lebanon.

    This was a scandal that occurred during Reagan's second term. US senior officials were selling iran weapons because they were under arms embargo. They did it to fund the contra in nicaragua hoping they would release several US hostages but since they were under arms embargo it was illegal to do this and they were under investigation but there was not enough evidence to charge Reagan.

In the united states he was charged for drug trafficking and suppressing democracy in panama and putting U.S nationals in danger. Manuel declared a state of war between both and the U.S went in to protect U.S citizens, and anything that would danger people from Manuel noriega.

    There was an invasion in kuwait in early august 1990 by iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, saudi arabia and egypt called the united states to help out. The persian gulf war began with the united states air strike known as operation desert storm. There was 42 days of battle from the air and ground, after that george w bush called for cease-fire but by that time mostly all iraqi forces in kuwait surrendered tor fled.

    There was 6 countries involved in this treaty the united states, east germany, west germany, the soviet union, france and great britain. The treaty put back west germany and east germany back into one country again. This was good for the american policy because it help build germany back into one after it fell after ww2.

    The START 1 treaty was the first treaty to help reduce nuclear weapons and limitation of strategic offensive arms among the United States and Russia/soviets. The treaty was signed July 31st, 1991 and became effective on December 5th, 1994 and lasted until 2010 because it was complicated and expensive then a new one became effective.

    START II
    START II was signed by President George w bush and Russian president boris yeltsin. It was signed to reduce MIRVs each country could have, this also showed that they wanted to reduce nuclear weapons because of the danger that could occur but it was never in effect. SORT was started in 2003 and it was similar to START II and reduced nuclear weapons to below 2000.
