Civil Rights Movement
The Watts riot was one of the worste riots to break out during the Civil Rights Movement. The African Americans were fighting for equal rights, and no segregation. Police used things like tear gas, police dogs, and used firetrucks to spray water at them. -
1965 World Series
The L.A. Dodgers faced the Minnesota Twins. The L.A. Dodgers won 4 out of the 7 games. -
Vietnam Protesting
People were getting mad at the government for continueing fight the war. 35,000 people marched in Washington to help stop the war. -
1965 Blackout in Northeast
The Great Blackout cut electricity in Northeastern U.S.A. and Canada. 800,000 people were stuck in New York's Subways. Thousands of people were stuck in things like elavatiors and other trains. 5,000 police officers were on duty to stop looting. -
The Beatles
The Beatles released their albulm called "Rubber Soul." The album had 11 songs in it. This album reached number one in the charts in early January, 1966 -

In the 1966 world series it was the Baltimore Orioles vs the L.A. Dodgers. The Orioles swept the Dodgers in four games winning the Series. The Orioles won their first championship in franchise history. -
