Creation of the Berlin Wall

What- The creation of the Berlin Wall,separating East from West Berlin. Almost a physical manifestation of The Iron Curtain.
Where- Berlin
Why- Britain,France,U.S combined their occupied zones into the The Republic of West Germany. Even many East Germans fled to West Germany to escape communism, many fled through Berlin itself. So naturally a heavily fortified wall was built separating Berlin East from West Berlin. -
Cuban Missile Crisis
What: Soviets were building missiles that they were planning to use for a nuclear strike on American territory and kill the lives of millions in the U.S.

Where: Cuba
When: October 16-28 1962
Why: The U.S had missiles in turkey aimed towards the U.S.S.R so in response the U.S.S.R put missiles in Cuba, 90 miles off the U.S coast. Through this the U.S blockaded Cuba in the thought that they were going to send the missiles off towards the U.S. -
