November 1, 1955 – April 30, 1975 Fought by North Vietnam and South Vietnam. North had been supported by USSR, China, and North Korea. South was supported by United States and the allies; Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, and Philippines. The division led to riots and protests erupting across the country. The Viet Cong attacked and took temporary control of several districts. -

John F. Kennedy who was a Democrat was running for president against Richard Nixon who was a Republican. In the end John F. Kennedy won the election by 0.1%. -

John Fitzgerald Kennedy Assassination
JFK was assassinated in Dealey Plaza, Dallas, Texas. He was traveling to a banquet in a Presidential motorcade with his wife Jacqueline, the Governor of Texas, John Connally, and the governor's wife. He was shot twice with the first bullet entered in his upper back and exited his throat. The second bullet hit him in the head. At approximately 1:00 p.m., the President was pronounced dead. Super Bowl I
The first Super Bowl was in 1967, and the game was played between the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Packers won with a score of 35 to 10.The game was played at Los Angeles Coliseum, Los Angeles. It was the first unsold out game. 33,000 of the 93,000 seats were still open. -
Robert Kennedy Assassination
Robert F. Kennedy had been shot three times shortly after giving a speech. He was shot by a Palestinian immigrant named Sirhan Sirhan. Officials pronounced him dead on June 6th at approximately 1:44 a.m. Sirhan Sirhan was penalized to death, but California Supreme Court abolished the death penalty and his sentence was commuted to life in prison. -

President Nixon was elected as the 37th president with 43.4% of citizen votes and 301 electoral college votes, his opponent Hubert Humphrey had 42.7% of citizen votes and 191 electoral college votes. -

Charles Manson Murders
He was an American criminal and also a musician that led a group of people that was known as the Manson Family. He had many followers to carry on his race war. He had slain many people, such as Sharon Tate, Steven Parent and Jay Sebring. It is thought that he had carried out 35 killings. He was convicted on murder and conspiracy. In 2012 he was denied parole for the 12th time. He currently lives out his sentence in Corocan State Prison located in California. -
Woodstock
Woodstock is a music and art festival known as “3 Days of Peace & Music”. It was first held at a dairy farm pasture in New York from August 15-18, 1969. Jimi Hendrix was one of the many performers there. His "Star Spangled Banner" rendition was quite notorious. It caused some people to disagree with his playing since the Vietnam War had be going on and thought it was unmoral.
