The first televised presidential debate
JFK wanted to have a debate on TV to show to people who he was, people who watched it thought that JFK had won because he was good looking and cool, but people who listened to it thought Nixion won because they knew he answered the questions better when JFK danced around it. -
John F. Kennedy Elected President
John F. Kennedy ran for president on the rebublican side and won agaist Nixion and won just barely. He beat Nixion by just over 100,000 votes which at the time was the closests presidntal race. -

Berlin makes a new wall after the old one had been distroyed. -

It was a time in which the Soviet Union was threatening to drop a bomb on cuba. They ended up not doing so and it was just a scare of them dropping a bomb. -

Neil Armstrong was the first man to step foot on the moon which marked a win for america getting to the moon before the Soviet Union was able to.
