    The Lunch Counter Sit-ins
    4 Black men sat in an eatting facility and refused to give up their seat until they were served, later others joined and waves of people continued as the blacks kept getting arrested. Blacks filled the jail cells.

  • Mapp v. Ohio

    Mapp v. Ohio
    Dolly mapp had her home searched for secret bombs but they found pornography and was convicted. Now police must have SPECIFIC warrents to make an arrest; can't use evidence gained through illegal searches
  • Freedom Rides

    Freedom Rides
    Mixed race groups of non-violent volunteers went on bus trips to Dixie to test the Supreme Courts bans on segregation in interstate travel Some stops had groups of angry Southerners and ended up setting a bus on fire (no one got hurt)

    Khrushchev demanded treaty making the divisions of West and East Germany permanent. He wanted to stop East Germans of escaping. Kennedy doesn't want that, he makes a speech that Soviets want Belin. Khrushchev responds by building the Berlin Wall around West Berlin a.k.a Iron Curtain

    U-2 Spy planes get pictures of Cuban's missiles and Kennedy has to find a way to get the missles out of Cuban because if they get set off they can hit the United States. Set up a blockade (Quartine). Eventually they come to an agreement and the missiles get taken out of Cuba.

    Wanted to end segregation and get bill passed and MLK delievers his "I Have A Dream" speech to an interratioal crowd of 200,000 people. Very peaceful and no violence happend and the movement works and Johnson got the bill passed.

Taught people how to take the tests (school use). # men murdered one black and two white and they had been working to register black voters in Mississippi, and, had gone to investigate the burning of a black church.
