    The Vietnam War was one of the longest battles for the United States and was a conflict between communist North Vietnam, allied with the Soviet Union, and South Vietnam, who were allied with the United States. This was a gruesome war and ended with an agreement between the United States and North Vietnam hoping that South Vietnam would be left alone. One of the reasons the United States got involved was because of the Domino Theory, fearing that neighboring states would convert to communism.
