This invasion was the first military action of the Cold War.By July, American troops had entered the war on South Korea’s behalf.     Four African Americana students attempted to force the desegregation of a lunch counter.They were refused service but remained there until the shop closed. The next morning, a group of 30 students did the same thing . This continued daily, and some whites joined in.

    Ronald Reagan was shot by John Hinkely Jr. as an assasination attempt while leaving the Washington Hilton Hotel. Hinkely's motivation was to impress actress Jodie Foster. President Reagan survived with a gunshot wound to the chest and Hinkely was proven not guilty by reason of insanity.
