The First Atomic bomb was dropped in July of 1945 in New Mexico. Later on these bombs were used to end WW2 on the Pacific Front and caused Japan's unconditional surrender. -
World War 2 Ends
World War II ended in 1945 after Japan suffered extreme casualties after the US dropped 2 Atomic Bombs. The US dropped one in Hiroshima and one in Nagasaki. -

The Cold War began in 1947 after US and USSR relations plummeted and an arms race began as an effect. The Cold War was a time full of fear throughout the American society due to Nuclear threats. -
NATO Formed
NATO or the North Atlantic Treaty Organization was formed in 1949 and was a peace treaty between the US and multiple European nations. NATO is still in effect today and a major reason for most of the peace we have. -
Korean War
The Korean War started in 1950 and was between North and South Korea with the US joining South Korea in the fight. the war was fought over the spread of communism in Korea.
