    The nfl even though being founded in 1920 with 4 teams in 40-50 is when the nfl and other sports really had its viewer breakthrough during this time. The reason they did so good during this time is because people resorted to watching sports as something to be happy/believe in during WW2.

    many athletes had to serve in the military during this time because of WW2. During WW2 many athletes (347) in the pro league in the United states. Out of the 347 only 119 of them died in battle. The reason this is significant is because now 347 athletes don't sound like a lot but in there time there was only 6-13 teams instead of 32 for football like today.
