    The olynpics were in the country of Japan and becaus of the war versus the U.S. The United States decided to back out because they simply hated the Japanese and did not want to participate in their event.

    The Japanese attack the U.S Territory of Hawaii and dropped bombs on the U.S Naval base of Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941. They destroyed nearly 20 American Vessels and and killed nearly 2,400 Americans along with injuring many more.

    More than 310,000 women worked while the men were at war during WW2. Made up 65% of the Nations work force. They used Rosie has a way to recruit women to enter the work force and go fill the jobs that the men left.

    On June 6th 1944 also known as D-day 156,00 American, British, Canadian forces landed on the 5 beaches along a 50 mile stretch of the heavily fortified coast of France's Normandy region. Many soldiers were shot and killed as soon as they reached the shore.

    An American B-29 bomber dropped the world's first deployed atomic bomb over the Japanese city of Hiroshima. The explosion wiped out 90% of the city and immediately killed 80,000 people. Thousands of more people would die days after due to the amount of radiation there was.

    Just three days the U.S dropped another A-Bomb on the city of Nagasaki and killed around 40,000 people.

    Jackie Robison returns home after fighting in the war and joins the negro league. He plays two seasons there and after the two seasons joins the Brooklyn Dodgers. He would be the first African American baseball player in the MLB. He went through a lot during his career from being yelled at by hecklers to being forced to stay in other hotels because of his skin color.
