The first test of the atomic bomb took place in New Mexico. The energy emitted from the blast was said to equal 21 thousand tons of TNT. This technology helped bring World War 2 to its end and can be seen as a steppingstone to the advancement in nuclear energy. -
The microwave-Percy Spencer
Today there is a microwave in more than 90 percent of American homes since its invention in 1946 by Percy Spencer. Percy conceived the idea of the microwave when a bar of chocolate melted in his pocket when walking by a military grade magnetron he was testing.
