Roosevelt's Packing Plan
President Franklin Delano Roosevelt announces his court-packing plan. It said that Congress should allow him to add one new justice to the Supreme Court for every sitting justice older than 70 (up to 15). The proposal was never agreed in, but over his next three terms Roosevelt had the chance to appoint all nine members of the Court. -

Base of Grand Coulee Dam Completed
There were two main contractors that were to build the dam. MWAK was responsible for constructing the dam's base and Consolidated Builders Incorporated finished the project. Many men had traveled across the country to work for MWAK and Consolidated Builders Incorporated, virtually everyone got job. If they weren't skilled they would work on rock crew and if they could weld or work concrete they would build rebar supports and form concrete. NOBODY was left out, black people or white. -
