Stock Market Crash (Black Tuesday)
People were invested in stock for businesses all over the world. On Black Tuesday of October 29th 1929 businesses went under super fast. People started selling their stocks as fast as they could. They would starts off at a decent price but then within minutes so many people sold their stocks that they were worth next to nothing. Thus causing people to go poor along with having no money. -
Dust Bowl
The Dust Bowl was a drought that lasted from 1930-1940, 10 years without rain, This left farmers poor as their crops died and they couldn't sell them anymore -
Canada joins the war
Canada joins World War II on September 10th. Great Britain joined on the first of September but since Canada was more independent they had a choice. Even though they would still have to join the war, at least we had time to make our decision -
Canada declares war on Japan
The Japanese attacked U.S base in Pearl Harbour, Hawaii and Canada declares war on Japan. -
Dieppe Raid
A terrible disaster in Dieppe. over 900 Canadians died, almost 1,950 were captured and taken to camps, they where starved and beaten. -
Canada joins the United Nations
In 1945 Canada joined the UN, much like the league of nations the UN is a way to create peace. -
World War II ends
World War II is over. Thousands of Canadian soldiers died, fighting for the country in Europe
